The camera alarm can be set up in the camera setting 'Alarm management and notifications'.

Alarm Push

'Receive alarm push' allows you to receive a push notification to your mobile phone each time the camera alarm is triggered.

Camera Alarm

Motion Detection Alarm

The motion det detects the number of pixels that move from one frame to the next. The sensitivity of the alarm can be adjusted, so a larger number of pixels moving are required to trigger the alarm. We recommend starting the sensitivity at 20, although this can be reduced further depending on your setup with some customers having sensitivity set as low as 5. It is also possible to select the area in which motion is detected. In 'Adjust motion detection' a blue box will appear around the view from your camera. Drag to reposition this box to limit the area in which motion is detected e.g. only covering a driveway or entranceway. Once set, press 'Apply' to save the setting.

Audible Alarm

There is then the option to turn on 'Audible alarm'. We typically don't recommend this is turned on as the audible alarm is very sensitive and if the camera is placed outside then it will be triggered by standard background noises.

AI Alarm

This is the smart human recognition alarm for the camera and when this is turned on, there is then the option to select 'Frame the recognition object' and when the camera detects a person, it will highlight them using a yellow box. Then, below this there is the option to adjust the sensitivity of the AI alarm and we recommend starting the sensitivity at 30, although this can be reduced further depending on your setup.

Alarm Trigger

The alarm trigger can either be set to 'alone trigger' or 'linkage trigger'. If you would like the camera alarm to only detect people, it is best to turn on the Motion detection alarm and the AI alarm and ensure the alarm trigger is set to linkage trigger. This will mean a moving person is required to trigger the alarm. If you would like the camera alarm to detect people and vehicles, then the Motion detection alarm and the AI alarm can be turned on and the alarm trigger can be set to alone trigger. This will ensure either a person or a vehicle will trigger the alarm.

Easy Setup or Advanced Setting

With 'Easy Setup' the camera alarm will always trigger if movement/person is detected however, if you only want your camera alarm to be active at certain times of the day, for example from 8pm-8am then please select 'Advanced Setting' and choose your desired alarm activation periods.

Setting up camera alarm does require trial and error as every setup is unique and so please do have patience during this process.

Action With Alarm

Under action with alarm, we activate desired actions each time the alarm is triggered. With 'Alarm capture to SD card', the camera alarm will capture an image when the alarm is recording and save this to the SD card. With 'Alarm recording to SD card' the camera will start a 15 second recording each time the alarm is triggered and this will be saved to the SD card too. It is not possible to edit the length of this recording.

It is also possible to have the camera sound a siren when the alarm is triggered and to turn this on, select 'When the alarm is triggered, the device will issue a siren'.

Then, there are also details for sending a notification to email (Alarm capture to email) and setting up cloud storage using the FTP (File Transfer Protocol) settings. More details on setting these up can be found on the troubleshooting pages for the website below.
